This position provides technical support for the staff at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. This includes helpdesk calls, routine and non-routine technical support of hardware and software. It includes the install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT hardware and software components to support the MPSC user community and operational environment. Utilize problem and request management systems to record and track daily operational issues and activities in a timely manner. Execute documented IT standard operating procedures. Communicate with IT team members frequently and regularly to advise on the current status of outstanding projects and tasks.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the position’s role.
- Computer coursework may be substituted year-for- year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journey level requires an additional six months experience
- Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.
Consistently demonstrates excellent customer service skills
•Experience & Technical Knowledge of Microsoft Window 10 operating system
•Experience & Technical Knowledge of Apple Mac OS X operating system
•Experience & Technical Knowledge of Office 365 Apps, SCCM, PDQ
•Completes and plans operational tasks properly, on time and on-schedule.
•Ability to communicate details clearly and completely in verbal and written format
•Proven ability to multi-tasking with attention to detail
•Ability to work in high stress and high volume situations
•Experience with Service Now or similar ticket tracking applications
•Office 365 Planner Tasks Experience
Requires the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds up and down steps.
