The North Carolina State University Office of Research Commercialization (ORC) is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Creative Services Assistant. The individual in this position will report to the Digital Content & Communications Manager and work closely with the New Ventures Team, as well as university start-up companies in creating marketing presentations, monitoring social media platforms, and content creation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Digital Content & Communications Manager to generate social media content and manage social media calendar.
- Monitor all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback related to Research-Commercialization, engage followers, monitor conversations and provide customer service when appropriate.
- Assist the Digital Content & Communications Manager in creating logos, websites, and producing branded materials for NC State research-based startups.
- Write stories and assist with the creation of collateral for the New Ventures Program.
- Assist with interviews, videography, and marketing events.
- Research new opportunities to increase awareness of ORC within the NC State landscape through social media presence.
This position is located in Raleigh, NC on NC State’s Centennial Campus.Other Responsibilities:
Other duties and special projects as assigned.Minimum Experience/Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Other Required Qualifications:
Experience with Adobe’s Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere), or similar software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in use of Social Media platforms.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective interpersonal and client service skills.
Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office productsPreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a combination of education and 2 years of professional experience.
Previous experience in creative services or marketing and communications.
At least 1 year of experience in social media and producing multimedia content.
Experience in higher education or non-profit environments.
Understand social media marketing and other general marketing practices.Required License or Certification:
