Job Description Summary:

The New England School of Communications at Husson University is looking for a part-time instructor to teach the following Graphic/Visual Design course on the Bangor campus for the Fall 2021 semester (8/30/2021-12/17/2021):

Information Design (GV 310) 3 credits –

The graphic representation of information is one of the oldest forms of visual communication. It is also one of the most essential in today’s data-driven culture. In this studio course, students will explore a variety of organizational structures to graphically display data. The emphasis will be for students to create visually compelling and interactive information designs that are clear, effective, and usable.

Class time is set for:

Wednesdays 12:30-3:20 pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

This Instructor will work with the NESCom Academic Director and G/V Design Faculty for each course they’re teaching within New England School of Communications. They will be supplied with a standardized curriculum that can, however, be adjusted to meet the needs of the instructor’s teaching style. Instructors will also be provided with the necessary training and supportive supervision to help them succeed and become part of a vigorous learning environment.

Education and Experience:

A master’s degree in Information Design, Graphic Design, Visual Design, or a related field, is required; Ph.D. or other terminal degree is preferred.

Five years or more of industry work experience in Visual Design, Graphic and Visual Design, or other related field is preferred.

College-level teaching experience is preferred.
