Job Summary:

An experienced senior scientist is needed in the Morganti Lab at the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging. The primary responsibilities of this position will be independent management of multiple ongoing and simultaneous research projects related to CNS models of neurodegenerative disease. This position will be responsible for implementing experimental procedures to create new animal models of CNS disease, interfacing and planning with collaborators to manage several critical experimental assays and data collection on their projects. The position will also be responsible for training lab personnel, students, and postdocs in proper experimental technique, including creating, validating, and utilizing lab SOPs. Further, this person will work the PI in the development of new experimental models as well as executing their utilization to complete projects related to ongoing research funding. It is expected that this person has an excellent capacity and documented history for working independently.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Design, perform, and document experiments, research project coordination, assist with preparation of manuscripts and graphics, compliance and lab management.

Preferred Education/Experience:

PhD degree plus one or more years related experience with breeding and genotyping mouse colonies preferred.
