This position will require the ability to occasionally lift, push, and/or pull 50-100lbs; sitting/standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; repetitive motion; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; occasional cuts, punctures, bloodborne/airborne pathogens; and occasionally dealing with combative/violent people.Shift:
UK Hospitals operate on a 24 hour accountability, 7 days/week basis. Shift will vary and include days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays per departmental needs.Job Summary:
The Patient Care Manager (PCM) for PAV A ACUTE / PROGRESSIVE / UNIVERSAL BEDS assumes 24 hour accountability for planning, supervising and evaluating the care of patients and Nursing practice. The primary responsibilities are to provide for the safe, effective, and efficient care of the patient as well as to direct the business, technical and nursing support activities of the unit. The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total,
comprehensive, continuous patient centered care which includes:
assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and
evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient
care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing
Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies
and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Furthermore,
this environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and
the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected
patient outcomes. This includes utilization of the nursing process in
conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring

BSN + 36 MONTHS EXPERIENCE AS RN IN TELEMETRY / PROGRESSIVE CARE PRERERRED.
Satisfactory experience in at least one area
of nursing to which person will be responsible is required. Prior management experience and MSN PREFERRED.
