An experienced post-doctoral fellow is needed in the Barrett Lab focused on Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). The primary responsibilities of this position will be independent management of multiple ongoing and simultaneous research projects related to colitis models of IBD. This position will be responsible for implementing experimental procedures to use in vitro and in vivo animal models of IBD for the purpose of testing the novel drug compounds and understanding the course of wound healing process under inflammatory conditions. The position requires, but not limited to, an interaction with all lab personnel in order to ensure that experiments are well-prepared in advance and ensure quality control and standard operating procedures. The position will also be responsible for interfacing and planning with collaborators to manage several critical experimental assays and data collection on their projects. This person will help design and perform experiments, compile data and statistical analyses. Will work with animal models, human subjects, and standard laboratory protocols involving experimental protocols. It is expected that this person has an excellent capacity and documented history for working independently.Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Design, perform, and document experiments, research project coordination, assist with preparation of manuscripts and graphics, compliance and lab management. Technical competence with highly specialized experimental devices and methods. Should have extensive experience in cell culture, animal handling, microscopy, and technical expertise in basic molecular biology techniques like immunohistochemistry, RT-qPCR, western blot analysis.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :
