The Master Principal Program (MPP) Director will be responsible for the transformative leadership and management of all programming activities, annual reporting, and relationships with a broad set of stakeholders. The role requires strong public presence, critical thinking, analytic and leadership skills; understanding of, commitment to, and demonstrated experience of collaborative leadership, collective efficacy and cultural competence.
Duties & Responsibilities:Program Management and Implementation
- Coordinate timelines and goals aligned with the Master Principal Program (MPP) and the Arkansas Leadership Academy (ALA) priorities Schedule and ensure delivery of all MPP activities outlined in the ALA proposal. (See attached or provide link.) Direct and coordinate all MPP professional developmentManage multiple priorities and remain adaptable to change Apply problem-solving and analytical expertiseCoordinate program analysis and researchModel cycles of inquiry to advance continuous school improvement initiatives Facilitate budget analysis and adhere to defined fiscal procedures Establish a schedule and convene regular stakeholder meetingsRepresent the MPP on all required ALA meetingsOversee development and implementation of specific annual goals for the MPP Coordinate data collection and progress monitoring with program evaluation team
- Collaborate with MPP stakeholders, participants, and partners (Planning Committee, MPP Phase 1-3 participants, Designated Principals and system leaders)Lead the MPP planning group and partners to prepare for and facilitate meetings, professional development activities, etc.Develop and implement the MPP agenda by planning and participating in meetings with the Commissioner, Governor, State Legislators, State Board of Education members, and other partnersFacilitate the Planning Committee to shape ongoing priorities and align MPP activitiesEngage partners to establish a new structure (e.g. demonstration network of schools) and partnerships (e.g. Division of Elementary and Secondary Education) to support programmatic goalsDevelop strategies to define programmatic changes and enhancements that include an invitation to participateDirect initiatives/projects through collaborative leadership, collective efficacy and cultural competence.
- Identify and recruit state and national subject-matter expertsIdentify, recruit, and train support personnel and mentors to support program implementationPartner with the Planning Committee and stakeholders to grow the programProvide guidance and leadership supporting implementation, communications, and reportingBuild organizational capacity by being committed to developing future innovationsMonitor program curriculum (content, strategies, and activities) for continuous improvement
- Create communication plan for all stakeholder groups Publicly advocate for MPP program elements while maintaining a professional relationship with stakeholders Translate and deliver programmatic, implementation, and evaluative findings into brief and easily digested formats and narratives
Support transparency and accountability through quarterly progress reporting to the Planning Committee and through an annual State Board report.

• Experience in strategic planning; able to navigate between big-picture strategy and highly detailed implementation activities
• Skilled in coordinating complex projects with many stakeholders
• Extraordinarily well-organized, timely, dependable, resourceful
• Strong ability to prioritize, communicate with others, and take initiative
• Strong oral presentation skills; experience preparing for and facilitating meetings with participants with diverse backgrounds and perspectives
• Comfortable leading interactions with state-level leadership
• Significant interest and experience in school engagement Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and High Reliability School (HRS) concepts

• An earned Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership required; licensed as a Building Level Administrator, District Level Administrator, or Curriculum/Program Administrator or equivalent
• Five or more (5+) years prior educational leadership experience
