STANDARD HOURS: 37.5 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.; Flexibility to work other hours including evening/weekends as needed.

MINIMUM STARTING RATE OF PAY*: $28.76/hour

*Current benefit eligible employees will be placed within the pay range based on their current rate/range.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is the lead IIT technician for the software, hardware, and printing/plotting used in the Trades and Engineer Technologies department for students and faculty. Install, configure, maintain, and repair, computer software, hardware, and peripherals. Provide exceptional service to a diverse set of end-users located across the district. This position is also the lead IIT technician on Industry 4.0 technologies. The role is focused on achieving optimal support and works collaboratively with all other members of the IIT staff.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Provide technical support to faculty and staff for all Trades and Engineering Technologies hardware and software in a computer lab environment.
  • Be the main technical liaison for Industry 4.0 technologies between IIT and the Trades and Engineering department.
  • Be the lead IIT technician on AR/VR/MR/xR technologies and advanced 3D printing.
  • Assist the other Client Services team members with support and projects as directed by the Supervisor, Client Services.
  • Work with other Client Services team members to install, maintain, customize, and configure workstations, software, and peripherals. Maintain network security groups for proper student access to files and software.
  • Perform computer troubleshooting to diagnose system problems; analyze hardware and software functionality and repair problems, working collaboratively with Client Services team members.
  • Keep current on technology and software utilized in the labs.
  • Assist Supervisor, Client Services with IT budget preparation for the Trades and Engineering department.
  • Attend Trades and Engineering departmental and team meetings to have first-hand knowledge of what is going on. Provide updates to Client Services team.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Associate Degree in a CAD related field or Associate Degree in Computer Science or Computer Support Specialist.

Experience: Four years of CAD/CAM experience. Ideal candidate will be experienced with supporting help desk operations including opening, resolving, and follow-up of support calls. Excellent outstanding client service attitude, proficiency with Microsoft 365, Windows 10, and troubleshooting skills in computer hardware and software. Knowledge on how to use and maintain plotters. Experience with CAD engineering software such as AutoCad, Inventor, Solidworks, Mastercam, or Revit is a plus. Experience in 3D printing is a plus. Experience in virtual reality technologies a plus.
