Position Description:
The Computer Science Department is seeking a Sr. Fund Manager to have independent administrative responsibility for pre- and post- award activities associated with federal, state, private and other agencies for Principal Investigators with expenditures totaling approximately $28 million while ensuring compliance with University and governmental rules, regulations and policies. Coordinate, train, approve, and audit online Journals (allocations and expenses), make purchases online (LVOs and Purchase Requisitions), check requests and travel. Assist faculty and related academic administrators in the acquisition and administration of research funding. Act as liaison with The Office of Contract & Grant Administration, Extramural Fund Management, General Accounting, Graduate Division and other central academic personnel in the acquisition and administration of research funding. Provide fiscal advice, assistance and guidance to faculty and department support staff. Assist programmers and Financial Analyst in the development and implementation of department computer database to automate accounting, contracts & grants and reporting processes. Participate in developing short-term operational and long-range goals for the Computer Science Department. Over see the processing of all fellowships and non-resident tuition payments for extramural fund sources. Serve as back up DSA for the department. All of the above is performed in a very dynamic environment as the Computer Science Department maintains a faculty roster of 44 members whose academic appointments are in 5 different campus departments which often creates complex and/or unique situations.
