Job Summary:

The Division of Allergy & Clinical Immunology has an opening for a full-time Sr. Professional Research Assistant position. The position will provide support to Clinlmmune Labs within the Division of Allergy & Clinical Immunology. Responsibilities of this position entail the performance of the highly technical tasks associated with outgrowth of stem cells from frozen human tissue and the manufacture of clinical grade human stem cell master banks. The individual in this position will work both independently and in collaboration with faculty and program leadership. Specific priorities and duties of this position may change as the operational structure and laboratory needs evolve.

Knowledge and experience in a healthcare/laboratory setting with an emphasis on excellent communication skills, extreme attention to detail, process implementation, and process improvement is highly desirable. The individual in this position will work in a self­ directed manner exercising excellent prioritization, and communication skills. Position must possess ability to successfully manage competing and changing priorities. An individual with solid laboratory skills, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technical, and evolving environment will thrive in our division.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Outgrowth of stem cells from frozen human tissue and manufacture of clinical grade human stem cell master cell bank using the Terumo Quantum Bioreactor.
  • Preparation of clinical stem cell doses for treatment.
  • Isolation of Human Stem cells for transplantation using the CliniMACS plus.
  • Perform equipment and process validations.
  • Create and update relevant SOPs.
  • Perform Quality Control testing of all reagents to meet FDA guidelines.
  • Perform flow cytometry and cytokine analysis.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) has been established at $52,000 to $85,000

 

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

 

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the operation of the Terumo Quantum Bioreactor.
  • Experience in flow cytometry and cytokine analysis.
  • The candidate should have a flexible schedule that allows occasional weekend and holiday work as needed.
Competencies / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in cell culture and aseptic technique, especially the use of bioreactors.
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry.
  • Knowledge of cytokine analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A team-oriented, self-starter capable of operating independently.
  • Familiar with FDA regulations and working in a regulated environment.
