Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to mitigate COVID-19 on campus and maintain the health and safety of the UNT community through Contact Tracing. This position requires strong
communications skills to help identify persons who may have come into contact with COVID-19. This position is responsible for the collection of close contacts’ information and for
supporting the next steps for proper contact tracing. UNT Contact Tracers must possess excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to help our community adhere to
policies and procedures to promote the most secure environment possible.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma and three years of moderately responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
• Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
• Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
• Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
• Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
• Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.

o:

Obtain and document case investigation details including clinical presentation, laboratory results, underlying conditions, exposure sources, risk factors and the potential for transmission for each suspected case.

o:

Identify close contacts including household members, co-workers, campus community members, and others who might have been exposed to the disease.

o:

Provide guidance on COVID-19 control measures to cases, exposed contacts and points-of-contact. This may include situations requiring the exclusion of individuals from work, daycare or specific activities within a group setting.

o:

Coordinate submission of clinical specimens and supporting documentation for confirmatory and supplemental testing at public health laboratories (SHWC Staff only).

o:

When needed, support the transport of clinical specimens for testing at public health laboratories from hospitals and healthcare providers’ offices to PDPH. Assist with packaging specimens for shipment to CDC and other public health laboratories.

o:

Participate in outbreak investigation in high-risk settings such as residence halls and workout facilities.

o:

Participate in regular team meetings and training’s such as weekly case reviews, and others as deemed necessary.

o:

Responsible for making phone calls to close contacts of individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. These phone calls will involve a symptom check, referral for testing if appropriate, and recommendations and requirements for quarantine/isolation according to protocols.

o:

Responsible for sending follow up emails to close contacts following the phone call.

o:

Contact Tracers will receive assignments from Lead Team Member and under the guidance of the Executive Director of SHWC who can provide them with the appropriate clinical information to make these recommendations and referrals.

o:

Contact Tracers are required to follow established scripts and protocols provided by the University of North Texas.
