The department of Academic Advising advises students concerning their academic plans and progress. Appointments are held in order to help the students be led in the right direction during their Undergrad career.Position Summary:
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
•Assist students with navigating student center (myUNTDallas.edu)
•Fill out and assist students with filling out academic forms and documents
•Assist students with registration for semester classes
•Maintain electronic and physical records of currently enrolled UNT Dallas students to support data reports
•Effectively manage security sensitive/confidential information.
•Provide general information regarding Services to current and prospective UNT Dallas Campus advisees
•Support UNT Dallas Academic Advising with basic office tasks
•Creating and managing files/folders
•Making copies of necessary paperwork for day-to-day advising, orientations, and information sessions
•Assist with appointment check-in when necessary
•Other duties and special projects as assigned
Currently enrolled UNT Dallas, UNT Dallas College of Law, HSC or UNT student in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree or certification program. Applicants must possess the following:
- Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Some knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
- Responsible, reliable and punctual.
- Ability to learn assigned tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and to develop some skill in the operation of common office equipment.
Monday through Friday 8am -12:00pm or 12:00pm – 4:00pmDriving University Vehicle:
