Department Summary:

The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas, distinguished as one of the few Tier One research universities designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, and urban design. We have seven academic departments with undergraduate and graduate programs, the Center for Public Management, the UNT Speech and Hearing Center, UNT WISE and a number of professional development and clinical training programs to facilitate careers to address a global society.

HPS students are trained to lead nonprofits, become educators, researchers and professionals who strengthen the diverse communities we serve, with thoughtful, inclusive, and equitable practices as audiologists, behavior analysts, city managers, emergency managers, health care administrators, public safety administrators, public health specialists, rehabilitation counselors, speech language pathologists, social workers, urban planners, and more.

Located within HPS, UNT ENGAGE serves neurodivergent students enrolled at UNT with reaching their academic and vocational goals through person-centered planning and individualized services. Students participate in assessment and planning meetings to identify personal, academic, and vocational goals.

UNT ENGAGE staff support and guide students to reach those goals through weekly meetings, workshops, and referrals.

UNT ENGAGE is seeking a Senior Program Project Coordinator to join the HPS family.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for oversight of UNT ENGAGE. Duties may include program planning and development, grant writing, budget allocation and monitoring, and oversight of program/project activities including: program marketing, program/curriculum development, assessment, and community outreach. This role may be responsible for supervision of a team on an ongoing or project basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and four years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to adapt to program/project and incorporate creativity and originality

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree in Rehabilitation, Counseling, Behavior Analysis or other allied health field and 4 years of relevant experience.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility is needed for events and other occurrences.

Provide and Supervise Academic and Vocational case management for UNT ENGAGE program participants.


Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate student provision of employment services.


Provide and supervise academic and vocational assessments of program participants, as well as develop and monitor an individual service plan for each participant.


Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, including development and dissemination of marketing information about UNT ENAGE services.


Develop a business model that allows for sustainability of the program.


Ensure that project evaluation components are collected and tracked. Ensure that all programs delivered meet applicable project standards and that all materials and programs meet accessibility guidelines.


Ensure consumer data is secure and confidentiality is maintained.


Coordinate provision of services with other project staff and staff on campus.
