Position Summary

Manages and completes all part-time (MSU student and on-call) hiring for Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, including processing all hiring paperwork per MSU and RHS requirements; facilitates all new team member orientations, introducing participants to Kellogg Center operations; provides instructions to new team members on how to complete all MSU and RHS required training and ensures all training is completed; works with Kellogg Center management team to recruit team members and post vacant positions in PeopleAdmin system; serves as a liaison between Kellogg Center management staff and RHS/MSU Human Resources to ensure complete, accurate, and timely communication regarding human resource policies and procedures; assists with preparing various human resource reports; participates in special projects and committees as needed; performs general administrative duties related to Human Resources.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, a related social science field, or a field related to the operations of the department; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function or an area related to departmental operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, LGBTQIA+, and gender backgrounds; ability to flex communication style to multiple cultural environments and multiple social identities; Experience working in the hospitality industry.
