Position Summary

The Office of Admissions is looking for a candidate who has customer service experience and a willingness to provide responsive customer service to students, parents, colleagues and administrators. As a member of the Welcome Team, this person will provide responsive customer service to students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Attention to detail is critical in this role as this individual will be expected to deliver timely and accurate admissions information, including recruitment, orientation, and scholarship details via telephone, email, fax, chat, text, and personal face-to-face interaction.

The individual selected for this position will be expected to perform the following duties in a professional and friendly manner:

  • Explains university policy and procedures regarding all aspects of recruiting and admissions.
  • Looks up and communicates student-specific application status and recommends accurate necessary action and/or shares the application status with inquiries from freshmen, transfer, international, and graduate applicants.
  • Assists customers with reservation, attendance, and guest service information for all major on-campus recruiting events.
    • Successfully employs various admissions technology platforms, including the Student Information System, Avaya Contact Center, Imaging, web applications, and a Customer Relationship Management System to access, research and verify student data.
    Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

    Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible expansive work experience in student and/or financial aid record keeping systems, database, word processing, and spreadsheet software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Desired Qualifications
    • Contact Center experience (2-3 years)
    • Experience in a higher education admissions office (1-2 years)
    • Salesforce experience (minimum of 1 year)
