Position Summary

Position Summary

Coordinate and provide communication and marketing for the Center for Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Protection. Work with staff and faculty at the A-CAPP Center to: develop and oversee communication and marketing for all educational, research, and outreach programming and related initiatives, including, but not limited to, the student intern/extern program, professional certificate program, applied and executive education programs, the Brand Protection Professional journal, internal and external events, website, research initiatives and publications, newsletters, social media, press/media, marketing materials, promotional products; set up, manage, measure and report out applicable analytics; take the lead on planning and executing logistics events and meetings, including, but not limited to, coordination of contracts and agreements, guest list, task list, budget, venues, food, supplies and materials, entertainment, reports, and act as liaison between vendors and users; represent center at various internal and external functions and events; and administer and oversee the center’s processes for management of inventory of communication and marketing material, data for metrics, contacts and engagement for stakeholder relations, and other items relating to communication and marketing.

Position Breakdown

Communication/Marketing: Assist with execution of the communication and marketing strategy through the oversight and development of communication and marketing strategy program marketing materials, promotional products, website, social media, press/media, etc. and applicable analytics on each for the center’s various programs in education, outreach, and research. (35%)

Event Planning: takes lead on planning and coordination of meetings and events the center hosts and attends as part of their education, outreach, and research initiatives. (30%)

Publishing/Production: composes, reviews, edits, produces, and/or duplicates content for the center’s Brand Protection Professional, Paper Series, and Backgrounder Series, including graphic design, layout, copy editing, and other production and release tasks. (20%)

Facility Operations/Processes: administers and oversees the center’s processes for inventory management of promotional and publication materials, data management for metrics, customer relations management for contacts, engagement activities, partners, etc., and other operational and/or processes that support communications and marketing.(10%)

Outreach: represent center at functions, professional organizations, industry organizations, community and other related internal and external events. (5%)

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in communications, telecommunications, journalism, marketing, or public relations; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in in internal communications; news, broadcasting, and print media, and/or marketing, advertising, and creative services; graphic design; word processing; desktop publishing; web design; presentation software; spreadsheet and/or database software; public presentation; or radio production; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
