Two positions available. Both are for Veterinary Technicians licensed with the State of Missouri.
The Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Service provides patient care 24 hours a day 7 days a week for patients that are critically ill or injured, subject to change or deteriorate rapidly, and that require technically complex and rapid intervention. The veterinary technician assigned to the Emergency Service will be cross trained in the care of Intensive Care Unit, but primary responsibility will be to tend to cases presented to the Emergency Service. The Emergency Veterinary Technician duties will include, but not be limited to, (1) entry of fees for cases presented to the Small Animal Emergency Service in a timely matter to promote excellent client service; (2) setting up for procedures and monitoring sedation/anesthesia; (3) overseeing cleanliness and sanitation of the physical facilities; maintenance of a wide variety of complex equipment that is vital to provide care for emergency patients and for patients housed in the Intensive Care Unit; teaching students the correct methods to perform a variety of technical skills that will be vital for competency after graduation; answering client phone calls and addressing emergency questions; performing triage for animals presented for emergency care; and assisting doctors and students on the emergency service with emergency procedures including, but not limited to, catheter placement, phlebotomy, and radiography.Salary
Salary: $13.27 - $17.00 /hour

Emergency and Critical Care is open 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Shifts could include nights and weekends.
Shifts are 6am - 4pm, 8am - 6pm, 4pm - 2am, 8pm - 6am.Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program.
- Licensure as a Registered Veterinary Technician in the State of Missouri, or eligibility to obtain Missouri Licensure within 6 months after start date.
