About us:

The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, as well as central Business Intelligence and Document Management applications.

Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration or their designate, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational technology solutions to the University. Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University’s administrative management and student systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing, recommending, and designing highly complex software architecture
  • Developing and updating architectural framework for highly complex and confidential university-wide applications
  • Writing complex technical code
  • Evaluating programming code to ensure it has validity, compatibility, and that it meets appropriate standards
  • Analyzing, recommending and designing technical solutions for highly complex IT problems
  • Leading and planning IT projects
  • Developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting
  • Planning and estimating financial resources required for programs and/or projects

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years experience or more in the following areas:
  • Experience working with Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Familiar and experienced in SQL and non-SQL queries and databases
  • Experience in data preparation, data gateway and data warehousing projects
  • Able to implement data security and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI
  • Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service, or by API automation
  • Knowledge and skills for tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, Visual Studio, etc.

USW Pay Band 16 -- $88,643 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $113,359. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
