The Centre for Student Engagement at the University of Toronto Mississauga is committed to creating inclusive learning environments to cultivate holistic student development. With over 80 opportunities led by 120 student leaders and professional staff, the Centre for Student Engagement believes that student involvement is a powerful tool to support an individual’s navigation of the post-secondary environment and to feel empowered to contribute and make an impact within their community.

The Student Engagement Administrator, Digital Engagement, reporting to the Director, Student Engagement, will implement digital promotions that highlight and profile the department’s commitment to student development and learning. This will include the coordination of a digital environment including, but not limited to social media platforms, website management, print materials and newsletters. In addition this position will coordinate administrative supports for the Centre and the front-line service operation which acts as a first point of contact for inquiries regarding all areas of the Center for Student Engagement including the Co-Curricular Record, UofT Recognized Student Groups, Community Engaged Learning and Orientation and Transition programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing a communications plan to keep stakeholders informed
  • Implementing plans across a broad range of marketing/communication channels
  • Updating and maintaining database records
  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Training and coaching casual staff
  • Assigning and checking the work of work-study students

+Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or Business
  • Minimum two years of related experience in communications and customer service, in a post-secondary institutional setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement communication strategies across a variety of platforms and methods.
  • Expertise using Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent), Microsoft Office 365, and Drupal (or equivalent).
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people at different levels of the University (students, staff and faculty) and with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy office environment with interruptions.
  • Knowledge of anti-oppression/equity practices are required.
  • Experience supervising a team of student staff.
  • Proven experience with social media and website analytics.
