Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Water Aerobics Instructor in the Professional and Continuing Education department on the Gainesville campus. The water aerobics instructor will be responsible for providing instruction to class participants regarding aqua aerobics workouts and using various equipment in the class (water weights, kick boards, noodles). The instructor will also assist participants in monitoring heart rates, proper pacing and injury prevention. Instructor will need to tailor the workout to the fitness level of all participants and must provide their own playlist for classes.

Responsibilities
  • Develops curriculum for the course.
  • Provides students the necessary tools needed to learn or enhance their water aerobics skills.
  • Determines the interests of students in the class and provides instruction to fit those needs.
  • Provides a class environment allowing students of all skill levels the ability to gain new knowledge.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of water aerobics class.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Current certification in water exercise field required.
  • CPR certified required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience teaching water aerobics for adults is preferred.
