Texas Lutheran University is seeking applicants for a Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. This full-time position reports to the Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations; and is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding corporations, corporate foundations, and private foundations. This position is actively engaged in working to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector, as well as other key communities that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the university.

Position requirements include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • At least five years progressive and proven fundraising experience or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; ability to listen well
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to plan and schedule own work
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and groups
  • Creativity
  • Public speaking ability
  • High degree of judgment is required to deal with complex factors, which are not easily evaluated, and make decisions based on conclusions for which there is little precedent
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Membership in ALDE, AFP, or CASE is required
  • There will be several weekend and evening activities to attend
  • Understanding of and appreciation for a church-related university
