Advertised Job Summary:

To provide overall project management to the Attendant Care Program (ACP) including supervision of nursing and administrative staff. To participate in planning, implementing and evaluating of specialized nursing care areas for training and certification for the ACP with the Center for Disability Resources, (CDR), Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine. Specifically to evaluate and certify clients or responsible parties for self-directed care or responsible party-directed care and to evaluate attendants’ ability to provide safe, client-specific care. To demonstrate commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Master’s degree in nursing or bachelor’s degree in nursing and 2 years experience; or diploma from accredited school of nursing and 3 years experience. Licensed as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Experience as a registered nurse must be in public health, hospital or long term care and experience in working with persons with disabilities and older adults.
Shall have a PPD tuberculin skin test, unless a previously positive reaction can be documented no more than ninety (90) days prior to employment, and annually thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Capable of providing individualized training for the client and attendant. Shall meet annual OSHA requirement for bloodborne pathogen training. Capable of supervision and project administration. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations. Familiarity with Access and Excel.
