Position Information: Part Time/Temp Instructor – Summer 2021

This position is in the Philosophy & Religious Studies Department within the College of Arts & Sciences. 

Summer instruction of the following course.

    Philosophy 250, Ethics in Engineering and Science (3 credits)
Required Competencies

    Excellent written and oral communication skills, including evidence of the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students.Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues.Ability to adapt to current methods of teaching via online delivery.
Minimum Requirements

    Must hold an PhD or equivalent degree in Philosophy or related discipline.Successful completion of a criminal history records check.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.  This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Salary

For instruction of a 3-credit course (meeting minimum enrollment expectations) is $4,729 paid in equal installments over a the appointment period. 

Work Schedule/Start Date: 

Estimated hours per week is 8-10.

Reappointment is possible contingent upon enrollment, funding and satisfactory performance.
