Job Summary/Basic Function

The primary responsibility of the Graduate Assistant for the Maryville University Occupational Therapy Program is to support the mission and vision of the program by assisting faculty with teaching and research activities. This position reports to the Course Instructor for OCTH 506 – Applied Anatomy and the Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Program.

Primary duties for the fall semester are to serve as a Lab Instructor for OCTH 506. This will include attending all lab sessions and supervising open lab sessions. In the spring semester, duties will include assisting faculty with lab activities, data collection, confidential record keeping, and other duties as assigned.

  • Candidates must be first-year students in the Occupational Therapy Post –Baccalaureate program
  • Compensation includes a stipend of $750 per semester ($1500 for the year)  and 6 hours of tuition credit for the year. 
  • Work Hours

    • Approximately 10 hours per week arranged with supervisor.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Achieved a grade of B+ or higher in OCTH 506
    • Application of ethical conduct in academic, research and clinical endeavors
    • High level of competency in the use of technology
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
