JOB SUMMARY:  The Director of Student Engagement Activities provides district-wide management and planning in the area of student activities, clubs and organizations, and student leadership.  Reporting to the Dean of Student Life, the Director serves as a member of the Student Services leadership team and has primary authority for the development and creation of student organizations, student government, and student enrichment activities outside of the classroom. The Director plays a critical role in the expansion of Title IX, cultural enrichment and DEI-related programs as well as the College’s exploration and development of e-sports. A collaborative spirit and energetic, enthusiastic personality is necessary for the success of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will:

  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the success of multi-campus-wide student programming functions to include student clubs and activities, welcome week programs, intramurals/club sports (e-sports), student trips, outings and activities. Maintain records, compile data, and prepare reports according to established procedures. Planning, creation, and maintenance of budget including compiling past expenditures and estimating future costs. Develop and assess student learning outcomes as they pertain to Student Engagement. Participate in yearly operational planning. Participate in college-wide Plan Do Study Act planning and implementation initiatives.
  • Coordinate all student leadership and clubs, and organization activities district-wide. Oversee budget allocations, creation of clubs, recruitment of club sponsors, selection of Student Government Association, Campus Activities Board, National Society of Leadership & Success officers, determine student leadership activities for welcome week; coordinate staff at student leadership activities. Process travel packets for all Club/Organization staff/student travel.
  • Coordinate Student Engagement activities district-wide.  Coordinate Welcome Week activities and cultural celebration/ DEI programming. Facilitate the application/nomination process, advertising and planning for annual leadership retreats and district-wide Student Awards. Oversee the budget and coordinate the creation of student engagement activities for returning and continuing students district-wide.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the engagement of non-traditional and post-traditional students with the goal of increasing retention of stated population using innovative and multi-modal approaches.
  • Develop and employ the use of multiple methods of marketing and technology specific to connecting with students; promote a welcoming and inclusive environment at all CAC locations. Supervise publication of the Vaquero Vibe; use social media and internal and external marketing strategies to increase student engagement and participation in activities.
  • Coordinate Title IX district-wide programming compliant with federal legislation.
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position to include participating in committee assignments and the recruitment and retention of students.

QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:      Bachelor’s degree
EXPERIENCE:   Three (3) years related experience

SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS: Travel throughout the District is required. Night and weekend work will be required as deemed necessary for support of student affairs activities

SALARY: Entry Salary Range:  $58,014 - $61,495 per year (Dependent upon Qualifications)

Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited course work by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
