Job Summary

Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. May provide work direction to lower level Laboratory Technicians. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic and/or research faculty members, staff and students. This position typically will advise and counsel: lab users. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Prepare and perform analyses of laboratory samples

Job Duty 2 -
Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments

Job Duty 3 -
Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records

Job Duty 4 -
Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations

Job Duty 5 -
Clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment, as necessary

Job Duty 6 -
Provide work direction to lower level technicians and assistance to lab participants, as necessary

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel requechnicianed for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requechnicianements).

Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Application of required skills within a university environment is preferred

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
