The position oversees multiple areas within the Residence Life department. The Assistant Director works closely with Student Rights & Responsibilities, Student Involvement, Campus Safety, and will be supervised by the Director of Residence Life and Director of Student Involvement.

Job Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Lives on-campus, and serves in an on-call rotation
  • Supervises the Greek Row Community Advisor
  • Responsible for maintaining Risk Management procedures for Greek, non-social Greek and student organizations
  • Oversee recruitment for all 9 social Greek organizations
  • Supervision of all Greek council leadership
  • Host regular meetings with Greek chapter presidents
  • Create and maintain the Greek life manual
  • Assist in the creation of Greek Life conduct policy and oversee all Greek Conduct
  • Plan and implement all Greek week activities, including Greek Sing and Greek awards.
  • Troubleshoot incoming calls, emails, and student questions in the Residence Life office
  • Assist in housing assignments for Greek Row students
  • Responsible for overseeing Residence Life programming efforts, including RA programming and budgeting
  • Maintain Greek rosters and advisors
  • Assist in running monthly residence life all-staff meetings
  • Meet weekly with direct supervisor

Other

  • Serve as trained Title IX investigator as needed
  • Participate in Faculty-Staff Judicial Board as needed
  • Opportunity to serve in other campus committees as needed
Supervision

  • This position will be supervised by both the Director of Residence Life and Director of Student Engagement.
  • Programming aspects will report to Director of Student Involvement
  • Housing aspects will report to Director of Residence Life
Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education, counseling, or similar field preferred
  • Experience with Greek Life & Residence Life
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Greek management systems (i.e FS Central and NIC)
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills
  • Experience with student-staff supervision, development, and training

Conditions of Employment

  • May not accept other employment on or off campus unless approved by Dean of Students
  • Must live on-campus (apartment and meal plan provided by Residence Life)
  • Reappointment is based on job performance and evaluation
