Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

Provide culturally affirming brief, focused individual counseling, group therapy and workshops, initial consultations, and crisis assessment and intervention to a diverse student population. Provide training and clinical supervision in a training program that includes practicum counselors, an American Psychological Association-accredited doctoral internship, and post-doctoral psychology residents. Engage in outreach presentations and activities. Provide professional consultation to WSU faculty, staff, and students regarding student behavior, mental health, and academic challenges in order to enhance an inclusive campus climate for student success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in Washington State within one year.

  • Excellent generalist clinical skills and experience providing brief, focused counseling services.

  • Experience working with “high risk” difficulties (e.g. suicide, eating disorders, substance abuse, PTSD)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • APA-approved doctoral program and APA-accredited doctoral internship.

  • One year of experience working in a university counseling center (experience obtained while earning degree is acceptable).

  • Graduate of an APA-accredited doctoral program as well as an APA-accredited internship (for doctoral applicants).

  • License eligible in the state of Washington.

  • Experience facilitating psychotherapy groups and workshops.

  • Experience providing outreach and consultation on a university campus.

  • Experience and interest providing clinical supervision and training to graduate-level trainees.

  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting Bilingual or multilingual.
