Position Highlights:

The Department of East Asian Studies is seeking two short term summer session teaching positions from 05/17/2021 through 08/22/2021. The Summer Session Instructor positions are part-time, non-tenure eligible, non-benefits eligible and will provide instruction in undergraduate classes in Chinese.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teaching EAS subject course CHN 241 or CHN 245
  • Holding office hours
  • Planning class lectures and assignments
  • Grading papers and exams
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Chinese or in related field of study
  • Experience teaching college-level classes

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least two years demonstrated teaching experience (online or face-to-face.) in Chinese
•Digital Learning Platform experience (Vista, Cengage, Pearson, etc.) Learning Management System Experience (D2L, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
•Completion of a Quality Matters workshop (online program)
•History of professional development activities for online teaching and/or course design
