Position Highlights:

This position will analyze and archive broadband and nodal seismic data recorded in Ecuador to determine the seismic structure of the region. The ideal candidate will have experience working with regional seismic data, and have some familiarity with python and other seismic software packages. This position is a temporary position expected to last from May 24, 2021 - August 15, 2021.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Under the direction of Professor SusanBeck, the Research Data Support Specialist II will:

  • Analyze seismic data collected in Ecuador to determine the seismic structure of the region
  • Gain familiarity with the tectonics of Ecuador
  • Archive seismic data including waveforms and meta data
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate some familiarity with python and other seismic software packages

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with regional seismic data
