The primary purpose of this position is to monitor all the data in TPF’s database, work with individuals to correct the data, come up with suggestions for data quality improvement by working with the bioinformatics group as well as review and abstract medical record data (demographics, history and extent of disease, diagnostic procedures, initial and follow-up treatment, and outcome) on patients who have consented to the LCCC Tissue Procurement Protocol. The individual will also assist in data abstraction for other IRB-approved protocols, as needed. Data will be entered into a secure database.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge of data monitoring and data abstraction. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and cancer staging principles are required. Effective user of computer systems such as Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK.Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Effective time management, prioritization and organization skills.
Experience of database management or knowledge of database concept.
