Position Description:

This position has primary responsibility and serves as the lead manager for all recruitments for all permanent SHRA and EHRA Non-Faculty, in the Kenan Flagler Business School. This is a position of high responsibility that includes policy interpretation and application of policies and all aspects of the recruitment process including working with managers to attract, hire and onboard new employees. The Talent Acquisition Manager will oversee Kenan-Flagler Business School’s participation in the Operational Excellence Initiative. The position requires a high level of technical knowledge and independent decision making as the position serves as the primary consultant on all recruitment, orientation and onboarding matters. This position also proactively works with managers to secure the best candidate pool possible, consults with managers during the recruitment process, extends offers and on boards new employees. This position is also responsible for Employee Relations and Performance Management issues for SHRA permanent employees and EHRA non faculty employees. This position will oversee layoff and RIF notifications. This position reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Human Resources.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of progressively responsible experience analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating and promoting HR best practices in the context of organizational goals and objectives; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

The Kenan-Flagler Human Resources office is a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail. The position requires a high level of organization, discretion, and an ability to prioritize. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Successful applicants will demonstrate a positive, highly professional and customer oriented focus in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with recruitment systems, such as PeopleAdmin, is preferred.
