The Garden Lab is seeking a Research Technician to assist the Lab Manager coordinating and performing laboratory procedures and tests in support of research. This position will be responsible for a broad range of duties including, but not limited to: 1) mouse handling, breeding and genotyping; 2) mouse brain preparation for dissociation or tissue sectioning; 3) immuno-labeling cells and tissue sections for microscopic analysis; 4) flow cytometry and fluorescence activated cell sorting; 5) RNA extraction, PCR and sequencing; 6) nuclei isolation from sorted cells for epigenetic analysis.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge and competency to conduct basic science research. Ability to organize and tabulate data; ability to ensure quality control of data collection. Ability to maintain inventory of equipment, supplies, and related materials. General knowledge of applicable area of science to perform laboratory procedures and tests in support of research protocol.
Must have strong communication skills, be well organized and use good research practices.Preferred Qualifications:
