Position Summary:

The TEACCH Autism Program at the University of North Carolina is seeking a Program Director for the UNC TEACCH Carolina Living and Learning Center (CLLC) in Pittsboro, North Carolina. The Clinic Director will hold a position as Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (fixed-term faculty), depending on credentials and experience, in the Department of Psychiatry, UNC School of Medicine.

The TEACCH Autism Program began in 1972 as a system of university-based regional clinics to serve children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. As part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, TEACCH has an active clinical, teaching, and research program. TEACCH operates seven community regional clinics across the state, an Employment Services program as well as the CLLC which is a residential facility (ICF-IID) for adults with ASD. TEACCH is part of the North Carolina Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) program and faculty are actively involved in student and professional training activities within the state, nation, and across the world. All TEACCH programs are coordinated through a central administration and research unit in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Established in 1990, the CLLC currently serves 15 adults living in two homes on a 79 acre campus. The mission of the CLLC is to provide an innovative community based residential program dedicated to maximizing the quality of life for individuals with ASD across the adult lifespan. The Program Director oversees the clinical and administrative operations of the CLLC. Clinical responsibilities include ensuring that all residents have appropriate treatment plans and support to achieve their developmental/behavioral goals and access to community-based opportunities to enrich their daily lives. The Director should have the ability to develop foster relationships with community partners and oversee program compliance and accreditation processes. Administrative responsibilities include clinical and administrative supervision of staff as well as general operations of the facility. The ideal candidate will possess significant clinical expertise in adults with developmental disabilities with previous experiences in autism, aging, and/or residential care.

Recruitment is ongoing until filled. The ideal candidate will start on or before September 1, 2021.

Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience.

Educational Requirements:

Masters or PhD in clinical or educational discipline with relevant experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum requirements for this position include previous clinical training and experience in the support and treatment of adults with intellectual disabilities and/or with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
