General Summary of Position:

The Director of Student & Family Support Services oversees the Student & Family Support Services Office and manages a complex and diverse portfolio of services designed to provide outreach, engagement, and support to families, students, and the surrounding community. The Director is responsible for all operations, administrative, and budgetary oversight of the office. The Director is also responsible for the visioning, development, and evolution of services and initiatives that directly impact student retention, success, and well-being.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Student Support Services: Supervise Assistant Director with direct oversight of food pantry operations and STARS collaboration. Establish and grow community partnerships with organizations that provide support services to students including establishing relationships with local landlords. Continue and expand fundraising for student emergency scholarship and food pantry.

Community Support Services: Develop, organize, and implement Student Affairs communication initiative. Develop and implement Student Affairs recruitment strategies and HR processes. Liaison with Community Relation Office, respond to concerns, request, and collaboration opportunities. Develop and manage business continuity protocols and planning. Maintain emergency planning SOPs and records.

Budget & Administration: Oversee office budget and administrative processes. Represent office on university committees and working groups.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, CSP, Counseling, MBA or related field is required
  • Minimum 10 years full-time experience in student affairs at a college or university with evidence of a progression of responsibility and oversight
  • Ability to effectively work with diverse populations
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Education or related field preferred
  • Prior experience managing a parent and family program
  • Prior experience working with students of concern/behavioral intervention initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership and expertise in advancing equity, inclusion, access, and diversity initiatives
