Part-time, temporary instructor for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.
Monday – Friday 12:50pm – 2:50pm with classes being held at Nevada High School Welding Lab.Essential Functions:
Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi. Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students. Fosters a safe and civil learning environment. Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies. Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.Required Qualifications:
Associate degree or diploma in subject area or AWS certification.* (IEMT degree will count), OR completion of a DOL recognized apprenticeship in steamfitters-plumbers, boilermakers, iron workers, millwrights, or sheet metal.
WEL 228: Associate degree or diploma in subject area or completion of a minimum OSHA 10 hour course.* OR completion of Pipe Fitter (construction) apprenticeship program
WEL 233: Associate degree or diploma in subject area OR completion of Pipe Fitter (construction) apprenticeship program**
WEL 244: Associate degree or diploma in subject area or AWS certification* (AWS D1.1 GMAW-S All positions open root limited thickness).
WEL 262: Associate degree or diploma in subject area or AWS certification* (certification must include OAW Flat and Horizontal positions).
WEL 341, 342: Associate degree or diploma in Tool & Die, Machining or related area.*
*For ALL WEL courses:
can substitute AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)/ Certified Welding Educator (CWE) Certification (certification must be current) AND 5 years non-teaching related work experience
for education and experience mentioned above
**WEL 233: If education is completion of Pipe Fitter (construction) apprenticeship program, applicant must also have three years of welding blueprint reading experience
3 years non-teaching related work experience
Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values, and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds.Desired Qualifications:
