Physical Requirements:

Standing for extended periods of time; moving/carrying up to 50 pounds.

Shift:

Monday – Friday, days, some evenings, occasional weekends.

5 – 20 hours depending on programming (on an as-needed basis)

Job Summary:

Responsibilities include food preparation, preservation, and recipe development; catering assistance including serving, bussing, transport of food and equipment, and set-up and breakdown of events; maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and off-site food preparation surfaces, equipment, and dishes; light office, errands, or other duties as needed.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Possess excellent customer service skills as well as a professional and willing attitude.

Have reliable transportation to campus and off-campus events

Have or obtain a food handler’s permit from the Fayette County Health Department (Servsafe certification a plus). Funding and training for certification provided by department.

Attend orientation training (3 dates to be planned)

Excellent opportunity to gain culinary skills, experience in event coordination, and increase knowledge about food systems, seasonal menu planning, local purchasing, sustainable practices, and community outreach.

Previous cooking, food handling, or serving experience preferred but not required.
