High School/GED;some college course work.

Required Related Experience:

At least 6 months experience with Extension, a University or related environmental education experience.

Required License/Registration/Certification:


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to walk, sit or stand for long periods of time


Days and evenings Monday through Friday. Internship/position would begin mid August and end in early November.

Job Summary:

Interns will live and work at the North Central 4-H Camp located near Carlisle, KY, which is 45 miles northeast of Lexington. Responsibilities include working with school age youth in the following areas: develop and teach hands-on environmental education classes, lead recreational games, campfires, singing, night hikes or other activities that convey the value of the natural environment. Interns will select an environmental project approved by their on-site supervisor and in an area of interest to the student. They will conduct research and develop the project into a written plan.
