Job Summary:

The School of Architecture at the University of Kentucky’s College of Design seeks applicants for an assistant or associate professor.

The School seeks faculty candidates who wish to expand their design research agenda, along with the opportunity to teach motivated graduate and undergraduate students in a program that is committed to design innovation and experimentation. Successful applicants will demonstrate specific experience with and knowledge of contemporary modes of cross-disciplinary (architecture, and interiors, urban and product design, preferably) design practices, community engagement, and foundational design instruction.

As the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s sole NAAB accredited Architecture program, the School of Architecture offers a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, as well as two- and three-year Master of Architecture programs. Established in 1965, the School of Architecture today employs 30 full and part-time faculty, who teach over 300 graduate and undergraduate students.

The School of Architecture has a rich academic tradition as an open-minded setting that supports diverse intellectual approaches within a rigorous architectural curriculum. Throughout its history, Kentucky’s academic environment, one which balances diversity, connectivity, and ingenuity, has attracted outstanding faculty and students, enabling many to reach the highest levels of national academic and professional achievement.

Preferred Education/Experience:

At least a Master of Architecture, licensure, and a combination of teaching experience and/or work experience in a progressive architectural/design construction practice, and a track-record of design research.
