One extremely important aspect of that commitment is to understand, prevent, and respond to the variety of challenges students may encounter. These include issues of bias (related to race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, ability etc.), lack of interpersonal skills, information, or power to resolve problems, or engaging in or being impacted by disruptive behavior that interferes with the ability to study, sleep, or feel comfortable and safe on campus. The Student Resolution Center is also responsible for interrupting student behavior that disrupts the greater Fort Collins community and negatively impacts a student’s ability to be successful.

Position Summary:

The Associate Director has the primary responsibility for investigating alleged student misconduct (including both on and off campus behaviors as well as academic misconduct), adjudicating cases and determining appropriate sanctions for students found responsible for violating the Student Conduct Code. The Associate Director provides leadership, vision and direct oversight of Student Conduct staff while playing a critical role in advocating for a fair process, encouraging student development, addressing community issues, intervening in negative behaviors, facilitating solutions, and collaborating with campus and community partners.

As a member of the SRC Leadership team, the Associate Director assists in establishing and implementing strategic department goals and making decisions regarding personnel management, fiscal management of Student Conduct Services, and policies and procedures for SRC related operations, programs, and service functions.

Required Job Qualifications

• Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling, social work, conflict resolution, psychology or comparable degree.

• Five (5) years professional student conduct experience adjudicating complex cases (ie. substance misuse/addiction, mental health, sexual misconduct and Title IX, violence, academic misconduct).

• Supervisory experience

• Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and access within campus and/or community settings.

• Demonstrated experience composing professional communications (outcome letters, reports, proposals, etc.)

• Ability to articulate and interpret federal regulations relevant to higher education and student conduct practice (i.e. Title IX, Campus SaVE Act, Clery Act, FERPA, ADA).

• Experience with conflict resolution, restorative justice processes or alternative dispute resolution practices.

• Demonstrated experience managing a large and complex caseload.

• Demonstrated public speaking experience.

• Experience utilizing conduct software.

Proposed Annual Salary Range: 68,000-73,000
