Job Summary Atlanta Metropolitan State College, a four-year degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for (5) Program Assistants for the Upward Bound Summer Academy. Upward Bound is one of six Federal TRIO Programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, supplementing their existing education and preparing them for academic success at all educational levels. The Upward Bound Programs at Atlanta Metropolitan State College currently serve over 100 high school students from various Clayton County high schools on its beautifully landscaped campus which is located 10 minutes south of downtown Atlanta and 15 minutes north of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The Summer Academy will be held virtually and face to face. The Program Assistant position is a temporary part-time non-exempt position that reports to the Upward Bound Director. Applicants will provide mentoring and supervision to high school students that will be entering their sophomore through senior year in the Fall. Applicants will assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them Monday- Friday. Applicants will need to be comfortable supervising and providing instruction to high school aged students.

Required Qualifications High School diploma. A minimum of 60 credit hours of college course work. Ability to work with diverse and underserved students.
