Position Summary:

The UCI Irvine Health Policy Research Institute (HPRI) is a multi-disciplinary research unit that conducts health services research, comparative effectiveness, and quality-of-care research. HPRI focuses on the assessment and improvement of the quality of health care, especially care for chronic diseases, with an emphasis on understanding and reducing disparities in health and healthcare for racial and ethnic minorities as well as for vulnerable populations.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; research, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies, or procedures for possible implementation.

Compensation Range:

Annually: $55,700.00 - $85,000.00

2+ years relevant project and policy analysis or project management experience

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Bilingual proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English.

Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

Analytical/problem-solving skills.

Strong skills in analyzing, researching, and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals/analyses.

Experience in project management (developing and implementing repeatable processing, tracking milestones, delegation/tasking, reporting).

Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

Skill to organize and prioritize workload, coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Strong policy analysis techniques.


Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Experience working with marginalized and or limited English proficient populations. Experience conducting community-based or clinic-based research, health education or outreach projects.

Special Conditions Required:

Must have valid California Driver’s license and own transportation to drive between UC Irvine main campus and clinic sites around Orange County.
