Position Summary:

The UCI Academic Testing Center, a unit within the Division of Undergraduate Education, administers the Placement Testing Program to new and continuing students to ensure correct placement in selected introductory courses and to help students assess their readiness for University-level work. These tests are selected or developed by UCI faculty who also determine the grading criteria for each test. Students, with the help of academic counselors, use results from placement tests to determine enrollment in introductory courses and to formulate a plan of study that is best suited for their learning needs and career goals.

Reporting to the Director of the Academic Testing Center, this position provides project management support for the various academic testing services offered to student, staff and faculty on campus. Responsibilities include assisting the Director with project implementation, participating in project development and consultation with campus partners, and performing data analysis trends for future testing recommendations. This position applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations. Responsible for the documentation of the Center’s processes and procedures across various systems (i.e. Canvas, Assess, Registrar, other campus platforms, etc.) Maintains Center’s website content.

Compensation Range:

$45,900 - $70,100

Required:

3+ years of experience in the related field.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

Preferred:

Knowledge of UCI student policies and procedures. Former experience in a Higher Education institution.

Special Conditions Required:

Currently working remote pending return to campus in Summer/Fall 2021.
