We value the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty and staff of diverse backgrounds.Job Summary:A full-time Professional Research Assistant (PRA) position is available in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at the University of Colorado. The PRA will assist in studies that use mouse models to understand the mechanisms involved in the development of CD8 T cell responses to vaccines, and particularly, the mechanisms responsible for a previously unappreciated collaboration between cellular and humor immunity following vaccination.The successful candidate for this position will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently as well as under supervision or in a team. Experience in flow cytometry, molecular biology, cellular immunology and working with mice are highly desired. The job responsibilities are to perform research work in laboratory setting on a daily basis and participate in group research activities as needed. Flexible work hours required. Occasionally experimental protocols will require working in the evening, weekends or holidays. The employee will be working closely with the supervisor in a small laboratory environment with growth potential.Supervision Received: The employee will be responsible to Jared Klarquist, Ph.D., Research Assistant Professor, and may be assigned to work with other members of laboratory staff of Ross Kedl, Ph.D., Professor, as needed.Supervision Exercised:None.Examples of work performed:

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, biology, genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, or a closely related fieldLaboratory research experience in a closely related field
- Laboratory animal experience
- Highly self-motivated Highly detail-orientedStrong computing skillsStrong communication skillsCuriosity and enthusiasm for participating in biomedical research
