We are committed to continuous education, sustaining cultural humility, and action related to DEI topics including systematic review of policies and procedures to ensure they are in alignment with the DOPsych DEI mission and vision.Nature of WorkThe Psychiatry Research Innovations (PRI) is a research support center within the Department of Psychiatry that assists faculty members affiliated with 5 Divisions in the Department in areas related to research administration, operations, and education. Specifically, the candidate will be integrated into the PRI to provide research assistance including navigating regulatory submissions, setting up research databases, managing study protocols, recruiting and consenting study participants, and others. Their extent of involvement in any of these research projects will be assigned by the supervisors as indicated below. This individual will be responsible for interacting with various faculty and staff in the department on multiple research projects, as well as in contact with study participants. The candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, professional in conduct, posses good inter-personal skills, a team player, and capable of managing their responsibilities with minimal supervision. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position.Examples of Work PerformedThe duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:- Manage study protocols to ensure regulatory compliance, including writing study regulatory documents (informed consent forms, study protocols and protocol application forms) as well as assisting with submissions to and interacting with COMIRB (20%)
- Participate in clinical studies process including recruiting/enrolling study participants, obtaining informed consent, creating and maintaining study binders, collecting and managing data/study records, and reimbursing participants (on as needed-basis as identified by respective PIs) (20%)
- Conduct chart reviews to extract pertinent data for studies (10%)
- Create REDCap databases and performing data entries (10%)
- Active participation in department, PRI-specific team and supervisory meetings, as well as attend PI/lab meetings for specific projects as needed (10%)
- Assist in the creation of research recruitment materials and advertising campaigns (5%)
- Work with PIs and other research staff to ensure various studies are performed according to University guidelines and meet regulatory compliance (5%)
- Monitor study budgets and draft progress reports in conjunction with PI and other administrative staff (5%)
- Manage research tracking and other documentation systems to collect data related to requests for service, progress status, completion of tasks, and feedback surveys (5%)
- Work collaboratively with other research staff members in the Department and team members at PRI, and at times provide cross-coverage when needed (5%)
- Perform administrative duties including scheduling, ordering supplies, arranging events, preparing documents and handouts, and others (2.5%)
- Perform OnCore research monitoring and regulatory sign-off (2.5%)

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Demonstrated ability to enter data via REDCap instruments and surveys in a research setting. Level 1: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field. Level 2: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field, and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in relevant field. Level 3: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field, and 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in relevant field, and 1 year of relevant experience.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish – written and oral proficiency
- Experience working with University of Colorado software applications including CU Marketplace, InfoEd, OnCore, and Human Subject Research Portal (HSR Portal), and basic statistical software knowledge(Excel, Stata or SPSS, etc)
- Study administration experience including submission history in COMIRB
- Demonstrated knowledge in building and maintaining REDCap databases for study data collection as well as regulatory monitoring
- Excellent communication skills as the person in this role will have to regularly communicate with their supervisors as well as clients within the department and representatives from other entities within the University. They will also aid in making group decisions with regard to projects and future PRI plans
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and demeanor in working with new and junior researchers throughout the upstart process; This includes teaching skills to others who may be working in the role of investigator for the first time, which can require encouragement and reassurance.
- Strong interpersonal skills with diplomacy and tact, as well as ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment requiring monitoring and administration of numerous active research projects
- Outstanding customer service skills, organizational skills, detail-oriented, and time/project management
- Demonstrated ability to independent thinking, problem solving, proactive in resolving issues, and manage priorities
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with a variety of individuals including basic science researchers, clinical faculty, administrators, and others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn new skills, synthesize and apply knowledge from different disciplines
- High level computer skills including expertise in various Microsoft Office products, use of electronic forms, and knowledge of database searches
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present analytical assessments and reports, and to communicate professionally and effectively
