Responsibilities Responsible for the operational management of the College of Medicine Office of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) including coordination of resources to ensure appropriate reporting of the College’s institutional effectiveness, strategic plan implementation, and other assessment efforts. Position will collaborate with Associate Dean for Continuous Quality Improvement and other COM leaders in the development, review, and reporting of various outcomes.

Responsible for the development of instructional and training materials to meet report and accreditation requirements, state requirements, and institutional reporting requirements. Responsible for facilitating college-wide trainings and workshops to ensure compliance with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and any internal FSU (i.e. SACS, QER, etc.) reporting requirements.

Responsible for the management of the office that leads the evaluation, statistical analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data that will be available to plan, track, and evaluate academic programs’ performance. Ensures academic and non-academic units successfully design and complete required compliance reporting for the annual institutional effectiveness submissions, including but not limited to: assisting in the development of appropriate outcomes, goals and measures; identifying appropriate assessment methodologies; assuring the documentation and tracking of outcome data; and reviewing outcomes submissions for all reporting entities to assure consistent and valid responses.

Responsible for assuring the use of appropriate assessment and measurement practices that improve the tracking and comparative assessment of outcomes for individual students and all instructional sites. Gathers from units, reviews, and reports information that documents implementation of the COM Strategic Plan. This includes, but is not limited to: communicating with academic and non-academic units, providing assistance and feedback regarding consistency and accuracy of submitted information, retrieving data from COM and university databases and reports, and compiling and preparing data visualization reports for external audiences. Responsible for managing the survey dissemination, collection, and analysis process.

Assists the Associate Dean of CQI and other leadership personnel in evaluation, assessment, statistical analysis, interpretation, and reporting of institutional data in the form of data visualizations, development and completion of accreditation documents and written reports, presentations, and other formats. Assists in the preparation of research and assembling of data for projects, reports and presentations.

This is a Faculty Administrator position with a working title of Director of Evaluation and Assessment. It is anticipated that the Director of CQI will also have a clinical or teaching assignment within FSU COM.


Advanced degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., M.D or P.A.).

  • Experience working in an academic-medical organizational environment.

  • Experience with program evaluation, strategic planning, and/or continuous quality improvement programs in health professions education.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of data management, database creation, and documentation methods used in investigating and presenting outcomes.
