Job Description

The Field Supervisor will assist the Field Coordinators in supervision and mentorship of pre-service teachers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular contact via email and phone with pre-service teachers

  • Maintain regular contact via email and phone with cooperating teachers

  • Meet with principals at each partner school prior to beginning observations

  • Deliver instruction to pre-service teachers during the Professional Development Seminars

  • Observe and evaluate pre-service teachers’ performance in a classroom setting

  • Conduct pre-observation and post-observation conferences with the pre-service teachers

  • Conference with cooperating teachers and pre-service teachers while at observations

  • Evaluate pre-service teachers’ assignments submitted in Blackboard

  • Complete an assessment of pre-service teachers’ dispositions

  • Upload all TEA required documents to the EPP database

  • Conduct interviews with incoming pre-service teachers

  • Stay current on state and federal initiatives that pertain to education

Field Supervisors are required to attend the following prior to the beginning of each semester:

  • Half day Field Supervisor Orientation

  • Half day Clinical Teacher Orientation

  • Half day Field Residency Student Orientation

Field Supervisors are required to attend the following during each semester:

  • Bi-weekly EPP Meetings

  • Monthly Student Professional Development Seminars

  • Final EPP Checkout Meeting

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in education or higher.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in elementary and/or secondary education. (Teaching Specialists work with students in their certified areas of concentration only).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience observing and evaluating teaching performance.

Required Licenses, Certificates or Registration:

  • Valid Texas teaching certificate.
