Position Summary:


The Assistant Director, Corporate Relations, occupies a key position on the MBA Career Management Center (CMC) team. They report to the Director of the CMC to develop business relationships that will enhance the quality and quantity of employer partnerships for all three student populations served in our office, FTMBA, STEM MBA, and MSBAs, while further developing and managing existing relationships. This position will also prospect for and source experiential learning projects by cultivating new, multi-dimensional relationships within organizations and developing partnerships to provide a consistent pipeline of experiential learning projects for academic credit and Program income.

Business Development & Relationship Management:

  • Develop and cultivate corporate relationships needed to assist three separate and distinct populations, FTMBA, STEM MBA, and MSBA students with employment outcomes that match their skills, career goals and salary expectations
  • Plan, schedule and execute visits with companies to develop multi-faceted relationships at many levels inside prominent hiring organizations
  • Identify prospects, develop, manage and evaluate recruiting relationships to maximize student employment and Program reputation
    *Propose and execute business development plans to elevate strength and number of employer partnerships, align student and employer needs to maximize the effectiveness of recruiting processes for both parties, and provide excellent customer service in order to build strong employer partnerships for the Terry College
  • Expand involvement in trade associations such as SHRM, TAG, MITEF with the goal of program branding and student hiring
  • Pursue and maintain continued dialogue with a variety of hiring organizations (including those met at national fairs, and participating in trade associations). Stay current on business issues, expectations and track students’ performance in the recruiting process and the workplace
  • Leverage the strength of the College and the University by collaborating with Executive Programs, Corporate Development, the Atlanta MBA Programs office, and other UGA assets for maximum benefit of all parties
  • Benchmark Terry’s recruiting policies, practices and successes against other schools and recommend changes as appropriate

Capstone Project Cultivation:

  • Cultivate and manage a pool of experiential learning clients who engage with the MBA/MSBA Programs as project sponsors for a variety of courses. Source projects that meet specific needs for each of the following classes: Lean Six Sigma, Innovations, Consulting, FinTech and MSBA Capstone engagements.
  • Source projects needed for MSBA skill development through Capstones – focusing more tightly on codin, data analysis, data visualization, and building insights and stories from data
  • Provide summaries for each project to assist in recruiting faculty and student talent
  • Assist in marketing the projects to the students, providing context and details as appropriate
  • Serve as liaison between clients and internal UGA and Terry College constituents to facilitate contracts, invoicing, and payment

Building Program Brand and Reputation:

  • Find ways to differentiate the FTMBA, STEM MBA, and MSBA Programs from our competition to build our reputation with employers as a source for top talent
  • Market Georgia FTMBA, STEM MBA, and MSBA Programs through Social Media posts, email blasts, formal presentations, and recommendations for improvements to website
  • In collaboration with Terry Office of Marketing & Communication develop content and execute CMC’s employer communications including program profiles, recruiter’s guides, employment reports, employer newsletter content, and other communications tools as appropriate
  • Supply targeted content for above that will appeal to specific employer audiences, informed by extensive interaction with employment base
  • Communicate proactively to CMC and Program staff members to keep them informed of trends and insights uncovered in employer interaction
  • Design, plan and implement appropriate feedback processes from employers on CMC programs, workshops, student preparedness and professionalism, and overall recruiting trends, plans and processes

  • Develop an advisor network that will assist career coaches in effectively addressing unique components of the job search in specific job functions
  • Provide insight on specific company cultures, interview processes, recruiting processes, and hiring initiatives to inform CMC advising practices
  • Assess employment trends and economic conditions that will impact MBA, STEM MBA and MSBA hiring. Share insights and recommend relevant program improvements
