University Housing’s mission is to provide comfortable, affordable and secure on-campus housing options in residential communities where the academic success and personal growth of residents are encouraged and supported. University Housing operates as a self-supporting auxiliary unit within the Division of Student Affairs. More than 8,000 students live on campus, where University Housing manages more than 2.8 million square feet of space in 22 residence halls, 20 apartment buildings, four Greek Park houses and 18 buildings on UGA’s nearby Health Sciences Campus. Transfer tools, parts, equipment and supplies to and from work stations and other areas.Percentage of time:
Assist or perform maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical and AC equipment change out as needed.Percentage of time:
Assist or perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as AC equipment cleaning and filter changes, drain maintenance and fire extinguisher or emergency light inspections.Percentage of time:
Escort contractors and outside vendors to specific work areas.Percentage of time:
Keep all work areas clean. Remove trash and debris associated with all day to day tasks.Percentage of time:
Notify supervisor of all work completed so that work orders can be created and/or closed.Percentage of time:

This is a full-time temporary position with the Department of University Housing. The primary purpose of this position is to lend assistance to skilled trade and maintenance workers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, electrical and/or electronic components found within Housing facilities.Physical Demands:
1. Climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds; may work from a ladder or scaffold.
2. Bend at the waist and the knees.
3. Work with arms and hands overhead for extended periods of time.
4. Use hand tools and power tools.
5. Lift and move items 50 pounds in weight, both assisted and unassisted.
6. Crawl to complete various tasks.
7. May occasionally perform work related duties outdoors, in hot or cold weather conditions.
