Description
The Simulation Center Program Specialist of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine will work closely with all the simulation center staff.  The incumbent will spend the majority of their time working on the standardized patient (SP) program. The remainder of their time will be spent working on the simulation program as well as serving as back-up for the Surgical Skills Training Programs and Robotics Surgical Training. The Simulation Center Program Specialist will assist in training SPs and Patient Instructors (PIs), step in as a SP or PI as needed, observe SPs and PIs for Quality Assurance, schedule SP/PI personnel, facilities, and programs. The incumbent will also do invoicing and help develop and prepare operational documents. While assisting in the Robotics center they will help with tasks as needed, such as, but not limited to, managing the robotics space, including equipment preparation and clean-up, schedule and order supplies, receive packages and materials, move materials between locations, and secure space outside of the simulation center for groups. The incumbent will obtain FLS /FES training through ACS/SAGES, and become a certified FLS / FES proctor. In this capacity they will maintain FLS/FES testing equipment in good working order, ensure adequate supply of testing materials, maintain current testing center information and availability to potential FES test takers on the Webassessor website, according to ACS/SAGES proctor agreements and requirements and reconciling FLS quarterly payments with FLS proctor testing logs. While working in simulations, responsibilities include, but are not limited to programming LLEAP software, troubleshooting technical issues with manikins and becoming familiar with simulation equipment to assist as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education & Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

* Extreme Attention to detail.

* Excellent written and verbal communication.

* Experience working with Standardized Patients.

* Must be knowledgeable about Information Technology and common computer software.

* Ability to multitask and prioritize work.

* Must be flexible and adaptable.

 

Preferred:

* Experience working with high fidelity simulators.

* Acting experience

 

This position requires a background check.

This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.

 

This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
